Thoughts from the Green Fair – Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust needs you!

Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust came to the Green Fair in a search for volunteers to take on a variety of roles across the county. Whether you fancy being inside or out, at one of their 43 wonderful nature reserves such as Attenborough, Ploughman Wood and Idle Valley or would like to train to be a Young Ranger, there are plenty of opportunities available.

They are particularly keen to find volunteers to restart the once thriving Nature Watch group for the junior section of the Trust based up at the Brackenhurst campus, near Southwell. This previously ran monthly on a Saturday but unfortunately folded due to Covid. The wonderful classroom facilities there provide an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in helping the younger generation to understand, enjoy and value the natural world around them.

Volunteering can offer a fantastic opportunity for you to meet new friends, gain skills and experiences, improve your health and wellbeing and importantly make a difference for wildlife across our diverse and wonderful county.

Whatever type of role you are interested in and however much time you can offer, there will be something for you. To read what the volunteers have to say about the experience or find out how your work place can get involved in Wild Work Away Days simply, search volunteering@nottswt.co.uk or ring 0115 9588242 to find out more.
